Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

This privacy policy explains how UK Tax Calculator Online ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you visit https://uktaxcalculatoronline.co.uk/ (the "site"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data openly and in line with UK data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

1. The short version

The tax calculator runs entirely in your browser. Any salary, turnover or expense figures you type are processed on your own device and are never sent to us or stored on a server. We don't ask you to create an account, and we don't collect your name, email or financial details through the calculator.

2. Information we collect

Depending on your cookie choices, we may collect:

  • Cookie preference. When you accept or reject cookies, we store a small cookie recording that choice so we don't ask you again on every visit. This is an essential cookie and is always set.
  • Analytics data (only with your consent). If you accept cookies and we have analytics enabled, a third-party analytics provider may collect anonymised usage data such as pages visited, approximate location (country/region), device type and browser. This helps us understand how the site is used.
  • Advertising data (only with your consent). If you accept cookies and we run ads, an advertising provider may set cookies to show and measure adverts.

We do not currently run analytics or advertising. If we add them, they will only load after you click "Accept" on the cookie banner.

3. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use two categories:

  • Essential cookies — needed for the site to work, including remembering your cookie choice. These do not require consent.
  • Non-essential cookies — analytics and advertising cookies. These are only set if you give consent via the cookie banner, and you can decline them at any time.

You can change or withdraw your consent by clearing this site's cookies in your browser settings, which will make the banner appear again on your next visit. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies entirely.

4. Third-party services

To deliver the site we load some resources from third parties (for example, fonts and the libraries that render the page and chart) from their content delivery networks. These providers may receive your IP address as a normal part of serving those files. If we enable analytics or advertising, those providers' own privacy policies will also apply.

5. Legal basis for processing

Where we process non-essential data (analytics or advertising), our legal basis is your consent, which you give through the cookie banner and can withdraw at any time. For essential cookies, our basis is our legitimate interest in running a functional website.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct or delete it;
  • object to or restrict its processing;
  • withdraw consent at any time; and
  • lodge a complaint with the relevant UK data protection authority.

7. Data retention

The cookie that records your consent choice lasts up to 6 months. Any analytics or advertising data is retained according to the relevant provider's policy. Because the calculator itself stores nothing on a server, there is no personal financial data for us to retain.

8. Children's privacy

This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will appear on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
